We left Mitzrayim—
from cryin’, surviving, and way too often dying…
We weren’t even Jews, we hadn’t paid our dues, no billion dollar views or ran the world news, or even created Blues Clues…
We stood at the mountain, not a soda fountain, Sprite, Coke, root-beer-float
Three days waiting— no scrolling, no hating,
no TikTok dances or Insta glances, no group chat sayin’ “where you at?”…
Just 3 days, for Hashem to interact…your my favorite nation, with lofty expectations, to last for generations, but first, some separation…
No relations, libations, gyrations, or even good vibrations, and definitely no bushels of crustaceans…
So we can all be pure, from everything that’s “ass—ssur”, no wearin’ designer clothes like Christian “Di-or” when you go to redeem your “Ee-yore”…
We made our procession with a few Egyptian felons, but no melons, no hall of famers named Roger Clemens, and when God broke through the Heavens…he didn’t stop at 6-7.
Lightening, Thunder, Stevie Wonder, “isn’t she lovely”, that’s ain’t our discovery…
Now Cholent stews with micro brews, Lambs roasting under chimney flus, Korbans shouting Moo moo moo, but certainly not with cheese fondue? That don’t pass no OU rule.
Gefilte fish, Luxshon Kugle, potato knish, not from Muggles, Matjes herring with smoked whitefish—now thats a Tish we’d never miss!
